Maxxis Rekon Race 29" XC tire

The Rekon Race is born thanks to the collaboration between the brand's engineers and the world and Olympic champion Nino Schurter.

The Maxxis Rekon Race is undoubtedly one of the fastest tires on the market. Its block tread pattern makes it roll fast. Its design is based on the Rekon, but with a smaller and shorter tread, for very low rolling resistance, highly appreciated in climbs. More rolling than the Ikon, it has similar lateral grip and powerful braking.

Ideal to carry on the rear wheel with a more aggressive front tire, like the Ikon, Rekon or Aspen, or both front and back for short distance races.

The Rekon Race 29" has already proven its capabilities: Nino Shurter used a prototype during his preparation for the Mont-Sainte-Anne World Cup in 2017 and kept it for the race, which took him to the top of the podium!

Maxxis Rekon Race 29 inch tubeless ready tire

The current trend by most riders is to mount tubeless ready (TR) mtb tires, these are tires that do not need an inner tube, but are porous, that is, they are not airtight and will lose all the air we put in them if we do not use a sealing liquid. In addition during our outings we can have a puncture of dimensions that the liquid is not able to cover, so we advise carrying a tubeless repair kit with us.
